Celebrating Women in Engineering

23 June 2023

Today is Women in Engineering Day, and the West of England Institute of Technology (WEIoT) proudly celebrates its remarkable progress in promoting gender diversity and empowering women in the field of engineering.

In the UK, only 12.37% of the Engineering workforce is female, but that is something that the WEIoT is passionate about changing.

After just three years, the WEIoT has shown action in the commitment to supporting females entering into STEM subjects, being 500% ahead of the initial target.

The WEIoT is spearheading a movement that is transforming the landscape of engineering education and industry participation.

Let’s meet some of the successful women that we work with:

Meet Charlotte from Renishaw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAOvGOSRQ_U

Meet Tara from GKN: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZK8S566eZu0

Meet Trudie from Airbus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meNwnnejIYE

We proudly stand at the forefront of empowering women and revolutionising the engineering landscape, with the support of our strategic partnerships with prominent companies.
