Net Zero: How to Achieve it
£300.00
At the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Have a better understanding of the fundamentals of energy management.
- Have a plan of action for short-, medium- and long-term energy efficiency measures for your business/home.
Description
- How to understand your energy data and sub-metering. If you can’t identify where, when, and how you are using energy then how can you target potential savings.
- Where you use energy. Clip on technology. Much cheaper than sub-metering this technology can be installed by an onsite electrician and start the journey
- When you use energy. Energy costs less at night, are there any processes you can move to out of hours and reduce energy usage during peak periods
- How you use energy. Have you identified major energy usage equipment and optimised their usage
- Do you have a continual energy improvement plan in place to review monthly your energy usage
- Lighting, heating and cooling optimisation
- Are you using LED lighting which can provide up to 50% saving and motion sensors
- Are your heating and cooling systems optimised, what is your policy on temperature range
- Cooling costs more than heating, in a commercial environment where cooling is used to save energy you should turn UP your thermostat
- Spares and replacement policy
- Instead of holding like for like spares can you upgrade to LED light fittings or Variable Speed Drives (VSD) when replacing component parts
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Is this optimised and a policy created
- Quick wins in energy
- PIR Lighting
- Vending machines
- BMS Settings
